Hillspeed Salutes Super Slater’s FRECA Title Triumph
Markham Vale motor racing team Hillspeed has saluted phenomenal British talent Freddie Slater, following his Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine title victory at Monza in Italy on Saturday, 25th October.
Slater, of course, contested three of this season’s GB3 Championship partnered by the BRDC events with Hillspeed, delivering superb performances at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, Spa-Francorchamps and Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit.
Starting the GB3 campaign with double pole position and twin lights-to-flag victories at Silverstone in April, the British Racing Drivers’ Club Superstar was back on the top step of the podium during the visit to Spa in Belgium.
There, Slater made headlines with a storming eight second victory in round nine – from the back of the grid on a drying track. In his final appearance of the year at Brands GP, Slater raced to a brace of runner-up spots in rounds 16 and 17.
His main focus this year has been the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine season, and after wrapping-up the 2025 title on Saturday with a race to spare, he capped the campaign off in perfect style by winning the final race of the year today, Sunday, 26th October, from pole position. All told, Slater has achieved eight race wins and four other podiums in FRECA this season.
Richard Ollerenshaw- Hillspeed Team Principal:
“On behalf of everyone at Hillspeed I want to extend our warmest congratulations to Fred for an exceptional season in FRECA. He truly is a very special talent, absolutely a name to watch and, I’ve no doubt, a future F1 World Champion in the making.
“It was a joy to work with Fred during the three GB3 weekends he was with Hillspeed, where we saw his ability and speed first hand and achieved huge success together. It’s a richly deserved FRECA title, and fantastic to see him winning at Monza the weekend after Hillspeed was there in GB3 and winning the final round with Maxim Rehm.
“We have worked with some exceptional talents this year in GB3. Along with extending our best wishes to Fred for the future we also send our congratulations to Kanato Le, Hiyu Yamakoshi and Michael Shin who all are graduating to FIA F3 next year, like Fred, after racing with Hillspeed this season. We’re delighted to see drivers we have worked with this year progressing to the higher echelons of the sport.”
