Hill Speed Racing, as the team was originally known, was established in 1970 by Morgan Ollerenshaw for his debut as a racing driver in the British Saloon Car Championship [now the BTCC]. After successfully competing in a Special Saloon Mini, Morgan stepped away from racing for the best part of 10 years before returning to action in single-seaters in Formula Ford 2000. When son Richard too over the reins of the management of the team, Morgan continued to be a major part of Hillspeed’s operations both trackside and behind the scenes and still is to this day – over 50 years since the Hillspeed journey began.
